Plenty happening in the garden this winter….

Come along to one of the volunteer days every Thursday at Gerddi Bro Ddyfi Gardens. Over November and December amongst other things, we will be creating a plant sales stand, building a nature hide that looks like a wagon and relaying the paths (paths thanks to a grant from Keep Wales Tidy)

Lots of tea and biscuits provided and a chance to try out the new yellow wheelbarrow- see you there!

We have won a Community Wildlife grant from the National Lottery and a Can Do Communities from the Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations.

These will enable us to run a number of workshops and projects, working with the youth club and the nursery in Machynlleth, and to fund the vegetable growing for wildlife course for another year.

We will also be open to continue to work with our regular volunteers every Thursday.

Amongst the projects will be more interpretation signs, a haven for wildlife, a scything workshop, an adventure wagon as a hide, and a wildflower garden stand for selling plants that we grow ourselves.

He has also been a valuable member of the committee, steering the GBDG through its growing pains.

We are currently seeking new committee members, so if you feel like helping out do get in touch!

Yn dilyn ein diwrnod agored llwyddianus, hoffem eich gwahodd i’n Cyfarfod Cyffredinol cyntaf, ar ddydd Iau 24 Mehefin am 2.00 y.p. yn yr Ardd Gymunedol, Y Plas, Machynlleth.

Dewch i glywed am yr holl waith sydd wedi’i gwneud gan wahanol grwpiau – ifainc a ddim mor ifainc – ym Mro Ddyfi.

Ewch am dro o gwmpas yr ardd a chlywed am y grantiau rydym wedi derbyn.

Gwerthfawrogwn yn arbennig eich barn: sut dylai’r ardd gymunedol datblygu yn ystod y blwyddyn nesaf? Pa grwpiau eraill gall cymryd rhan, a pa fath o weithgareddau dylai digwydd?

Cewch helpu dewis Pwyllgor newydd hefyd, wrth gwrs – a byddwn yn croesawi gwaed newydd!

‘Following our successful open day we would like to invite you to our first AGM on Thursday 24th June at 2.00pm at the Gardens, Y Plas grounds, Machynlleth.

Please come and hear about all the work that has been done  – with all the different groups, young and not-so-young, in Machynlleth and the surrounding area.

You can have a quick tour of the garden and find out about the grants we have been able to get.

We would especially value your input into how you think the therapeutic community garden should develop in the coming year. What other groups could we get involved and what kind of activities do you think should happen?

Also and perhaps most important you will hear about the funding we are hoping to get for the next year and what this could mean for the potential of the garden and the groups who use it.

And of course you can have your say in electing a new committee – and we would welcome fresh people on board!

Bring anyone you think would be interested.
